The Clinical Model of SUKOON is based on its basic psychopathological assumption that a majority of mental and psychosocial problems are caused by detachment from nature. SUKOON believes that a genuine connection with nature can prevent humans from several aforesaid problems and the problems can be cured and rehabilitated by being closer to nature.
Nature, for SUKOON, means all those creations that are directly created by God. In other words, all those creations, inventions and developments that are made by human beings, animals, machines, etc. are unnatural elements. As for as human beings are concerned, their subconscious and unconscious are purely natural and their conscious and bodies are not purely natural. Exploring nature further, a SUKOON psychotherapist adopts and develops natural and genuine means in psychotherapeutic settings. The psychotherapist himself/herself pretends to be as a role model for his/her clients and possesses a strong linkage with nature. Another important aspect of SUKOON psychotherapeutic interventions is that it does not believe in what is named as “talking cure”; the psychotherapeutic techniques developed by this model does not involve “talking” or “cognitive therapy”, they rather involve practical / non-verbal methods to address a problem. Psychological counseling, however, may involve frequent talk between the client and the counselor.
The model is presented in different relevant categories i.e.:
